Live-in care is becoming more popular for families as it means Adults can remain in their homes and don’t have to go into a care home which can be distressing for some. Remaining in a familiar environment cannot be overstated.

We provide Personal care for all service users that require such. Our service is bespoke and tailored to meet the individual needs of the adult using the service. These needs are captured during our initial assessment and included in the adults’ care plan.

Services provided as part of personal care include the following:

• Bathing, showering, and applying creams / lotions
• Toileting
• Changing continence pads, along with cleaning intimate areas
• Support moving position in bed, to stretch and prevent bed sores
• Changing or maintaining a stoma or catheter bag, or another form of clinical intervention
• Dressing and getting ready for bed
• Oral hygiene
• Support with shaving / Hair care

Passion Tree Care Services has been providing reablement services across Mid Essex. Reablement care is a short-term service designed to assist our service users to develop the confidence to carry out personal and daily activities yourself so that you can continue to live at home independently after a hospital stay / surgery. It typically lasts for six weeks and focuses on the adult as an individual with specific outcomes to achieve.

We work with various stakeholders in the delivery of this service, and these include:

• Physiotherapists
• Occupational therapists
• District Nurses

This service gives the adult time to source ongoing care should this be required. There are adults who regain their independence and then exit the service.

Supporting Adults using our service  with their medication management includes such things as:

• Ordering and collecting prescriptions
• Seeking GP-authorisation for over-the-counter medication
• Liaising with community healthcare services including GPs, pharmacies and District Nurses
• Managing medication queries or issues and advocating on behalf of you or your family member to access the right medication

We can provide as little or as much support with medication as needed. All our staff are trained to administer prescribed and GP-authorised medication.  We can simply prompt clients to take their medication or we can offer more involved management.

Our care staff are not allowed to work with sharps (e.g. injections) or administer pessaries, or suppositories. These duties are typically undertaken by the local District Nursing team who we regularly work in partnership with.

Waking night is a service we provide for Adults who don’t want carers living in their home or don’t have the space to accommodate them. The carer stays with the Adult over nights and this provides a calming presence and the staff attends to the Adults needs and prepares them in the morning thus ensuing  day time care duration is reduced.

Respite care means taking a break from caring, while the person you care for is looked after by someone else. It lets you take time out to look after yourself and helps stop you becoming exhausted and run down.

Passion Tree Care Services can provide a care staff  to sit with the person you look after for a few hours or days  so you can go on holiday or take a much needed break.
